Quickonthedraw is Surrey based pencil and charcoal artist Andrew Appleyard.

Drawing has been the one constant in Andrews life. Something which he has always done and never stopped doing. Always learning and always practicing, it is a pure love of creating something by hand that motivates him to continue.

A true lover of portraiture, it is this he has become most adept at, but more recently he has turned his hand to drawing animals and wildlife. 

 

After receiving an A for his art GCSE, he continued to draw in his spare time, but it wasn't until 2016 that he stumbled across a drawing by Fabio Rangel that completely changed his mindset. Always up for a challenge, he employed a whole host of new techniques to achieve higher levels of realism. 

Originally a pencil artist, he discovered charcoal in 2017 and this has since been his medium of choice.

Ever the traditionalist, the artworks he produces are never digitally altered in any way.
